501 Cedar St
Historic Restoration & Rehabilitation
When this residence entered the market, the structure had sustained roof failures severe enough to rot through the living room floor and ceiling. No power. No running water. Floors more than twelve inches out of level. Walls three to six inches out of plumb.
Located within the Fernandina Beach Historic District, demolition was not an option. The full structure was re-leveled to within a quarter inch. Original windows, porch posts, and heart pine beadboard were restored and reinstalled. When concealed fire damage was discovered in a load-bearing wall, it was replaced without compromise. Reclaimed siding was sourced and integrated seamlessly into the west elevation.
The completed home now includes two children's bedrooms, a master suite, a full bathroom, and a reconfigured kitchen and gathering space. Plumb, level, and fully functional. Its historic character intact.
